The Magnaflux D-2100XL Series Wet Horizontal Units consists of the D-2100XL4 and the D-2100XL5 are very powerful magnetic particle inspection (MPI) units that are used to test Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) drill pipes. The system can test pipes of 20 feet in length, 20” in diameter and 4,000 pounds.
With its ergonomic design and safety features, these units are able to use pneumatics instead of manually moving parts along the rail. The D-Series is able to process a wide range of part lengths and the clamshell coil allows for easy part loading because parts can be loaded from overhead. Coil currents can be adjusted either on the operator interface or with push buttons between the panels, depending on where the coil resides on the unit.
Applications for the D-Series MPI units include the inspection of drill pipes, casings and other tubular products.
