The Sonotech Sonotrace is an ambient temperature ultrasonic couplant designed for good wetting ability and ferrous corrosion resistance when testing for flaw detection and thickness. It is recommended for use where low levels of halogens and sulfur is needed as well as when low melting point metals need to be kept at bay. This water-based, water-soluble couplant is glycerine-free and possesses humectants to slow drying.
Grade 40 has a viscosity of 125,000 cps Brookfield Helipath Spindle E @ 1.5 rpm).
The Sonotech Sonotrace GR40 is available in a 1 gallon container, a 5 gallon container and a 55 gallon drum.
SONOTRACE® is a moderately priced, ambient temperature, water-based, glycerine-free ultrasonic couplant for flaw detection and thickness gaging where Halogens, Sulfur and low melting point metals must be kept to a minimum and glycerine is to be avoided.
SONOTRACE meets the Halogens and Sulfur requirements specified in NAVSHIPS MIL-STD-767. SONOTRACE is available in two versions:
