The V48BD infrared (IR) viewing window features a 4" x 8" viewing pane, incorporating our patented composite safety optic and the BLASTDOWN® pressure relief system for arc-flash protection. This design offers exceptional safety and flexibility.

The ViPIRS V44BD features a next-generation composite polymer optic that is compatible with the latest thermal imaging technology. Its mesh-reinforced polymer composite offers an exceptional field of view and unparalleled image clarity. In the past, infrared viewing panes with transmissive polymers required metallic mesh on one or both sides to meet safety standards. This dual mesh setup often led to issues with image clarity and vignetting effects due to poor mesh alignment and angled imaging.

Unlike traditional IR windows that use 'arc containment' for protection, the ViPIRS V44BD features a unique BLASTDOWN® arc-flash pressure relief system. Instead of trying to contain the intense overpressures caused by an electric arc flash, the BLASTDOWN® system directs the energy through specially designed vents at the base of the frame.

The ViPIRS V44BD composite optic integrates a single mesh directly within the polymer, forming a durable infrared transmissive optic that adheres to the latest codes and standards while eliminating problems related to mesh alignment and image distortion. Its smooth surfaces on both sides make the V44BD easy to clean and maintain, ensuring optimal image quality and a broad field of view.

Certified by Underwriters Laboratories (E516454), the American Bureau of Shipping (21-2156486-PDA) and ExVeritas (21TEST0933) for both indoor and outdoor installations into NEMA 250-rated Type 4/12 equipment and EN60529:1992 + A2:2013 IP54-rated equipment, this infrared viewing pane complies with the latest industry standards, including IEEE (impact and load), UL50V, UL746C and UL94.
