Waygate Krautkramer SPG 3 Rail Testing Trolley (68927)

The Waygate Technologies Krautkramer SPG 3 ultrasonic rail testing system, a Baker Hughes business product (formerly GE Inspection Technologies), is used to inspect railroad rails.

The SPG 3 testing system contains a custom built probe housing for 5 dual-element probes with angles set to 70°, 38°, 0°, -38° and -70°. The probes can either be activated all at once or individually with the distribution box.

The probe block is designed to be suspended in double gimbals to follow the contour of the rail. It can be raised by means of a Bowden wire. The rollers are designed to enable both rolling on rails as well as on the ground.

The SPG 3 can be utilized with various portable ultrasonic flaw detection instruments, such as the USM 35X
