    Description

    Waygate Technologies Krautkramer SWS and AWS Transducers, Standard Angle Beam Style, Baker Hughes business products (formerly GE Inspection Technologies), are designed to fit on respective SWS and AWS wedges. All SWS and AWS transducers attach the probe to the wedge and have top-mount BNC connectors. Transducers come in both Gamma and Benchmark series. 

    SWS and AWS Transducers in the Gamma Series are recommended for applications where high sensitivity and penetration are essential.  Typical Gamma waveform exhibits 3 to 4 full ring cycles depending on frequency, size, and other parameters. Gamma Series transducers feature medium pulse and medium damping for the best combination of gain and resolution. A matching electrical network ensures maximum gain and optimum waveform for general use. 

    SWS and AWS Transducers in the Benchmark Series feature exclusive Benchmark Composite active elements. Benchmark series punch through highly attenuative materials through a superior combination of sensitivity, resolution, and penetration. Gain in this series is higher than those of the Gamma Series. If the signal to noise ratio is a problem, such as coarse gain materials and fiber reinforced composites, the Benchmark series proves to be a practical tool for users. Benchmark Series transducers are an excellent match to plastic and water thanks to a low acoustic impedance element that improves the performance of angle beam, delay line, and immersion probes.

    The AWS transducers are only available in 2.25 MHz and are designed to meet or exceed all of the requirements outlined in AWS Structural Welding Code D1.1.
