The DeFelsko PosiTector BHI Barcol Hardness Impressor measures hardness in soft materials like aluminum and its alloys, copper, and brass. It also measures hardness in other materials, such as harder plastics and fiber-reinforced plastic. The PosiTector BHI is lightweight and portable for use in any orientation. The flip display feature found in all PosiTector gage bodies, complements this design by providing right-side-up viewing at all times. This impressor is also weatherproof - resistant to dust, water, oil, solvent, and acid.
The PosiTector BHI has user-adjustable measurement time with on-screen countdown to assist in taking accurate measurements. Hard and soft aluminum alloy test disks, along with a leveling plate, come with the PosiTector BHI to verify that the gage is operating effectively. A Hi-RES mode increases the displayed resolution for use on applications that have greater precision requirements. The average, standard deviation, min/max hardness, and number of readings are continuously displayed and updated while taking measurements. When measurements exceed user-specified limits, a HiLo alarm alerts the user audibly and visually. The PosiTector BHI conforms to national and international standards including ASTM.
