Description
The V46BD infrared (IR) viewing window includes a 4" x 6" viewing pane and features our patented composite safety optic, along with the BLASTDOWN® pressure relief system for arc-flash protection. This design delivers exceptional safety and flexibility.
The ViPIRS V46BD utilizes a next-generation composite polymer optic that seamlessly integrates with the latest thermal imaging technology. Its mesh-reinforced polymer composite ensures an exceptional field of view and image clarity. Traditionally, infrared viewing panes with transmissive polymers required metallic mesh on one or both sides of the polymer sheet to meet safety standards. This dual-mesh configuration often caused issues with image clarity and vignetting effects due to misaligned mesh and angled imaging.
Unlike traditional IR windows that depend on 'arc containment' for protection, the ViPIRS range features a distinctive BLASTDOWN® arc-flash pressure relief system. Instead of trying to contain the intense overpressures produced by an electric arc flash, the ViPIRS BLASTDOWN® system directs the energy through specific vents located at the base of the frame.
The ViPIRS V46BD composite optic features a single mesh embedded within the polymer, forming a sturdy infrared transmissive optic that adheres to the latest codes and standards without the image distortion issues related to mesh alignment. With smooth surfaces on both sides, the V46BD is easy to clean and maintain, ensuring optimal image quality and a broad field of view.
Certified by Underwriters Laboratories (E516454), the American Bureau of Shipping (21-2156486-PDA) and ExVeritas (21TEST0933) for both indoor and outdoor installations into NEMA 250-rated Type 4/12 equipment and EN60529:1992 + A2:2013 IP54-rated equipment, this infrared viewing pane complies with the latest industry standards, including IEEE (impact and load), UL50V, UL746C and UL94.
