The King Tester Kingscan® IVe Automatic Brinell Microscope
The Kingscan IVe offers a fast, accurate, repeatable and very affordable solution for your Brinell hardness testing needs. The Kingscan IV is available as a kit to be used with a customer's existing computer, laptop or tablet, or it is may be combined with a computer or tablet provided by King Tester Corporation.
Accurate Brinell readings to 0.01 mm are easy to complete, even for inexperienced users. A measurement is made by simply placing the microscope's camera over the Brinell impression and aligning the impression within the electronic crosshairs (or alternative target styles). Once lined up, pressing the activation button on the camera or any key on the keyboard begins the measurement process. The Kingscan IVe will create a maximum of 1200 points around the circumference of the Brinell impression - 600 diameters in a + orientation and 600 diameters in an X orientation. In accordance with ASTM-E10, the diameter of the impression is calculated and recorded. It takes 0.7 seconds to show the output on screen with the diameter of the impression and its Brinell hardness number. Output also includes The Figure of Merit (the percentage of points that correspond to the diameter), RND (the percentage of roundness of the impression), the diameter of the ball used in making the impression, and the load used in making the impression. Also recorded is the sequence number of tests made on the part and how long it took to take the test.
