    Description

Waygate Technologies Krautkramer ISS and IS Style Immersion Transducers, Baker Hughes business products (formerly GE Inspection Technologies), are specially made for under-water inspections that require element diameters between .25" to 1.0".

These transducers are available in three different series, Alpha, Gamma, and BENCHMARK COMPOSITE®. Having different series allows users to focus on critical applications in order to improve near surface resolution or areas where there is sensitivity to small discontinuities. Availability of each series depends on both frequency and size.

Gamma Series can be used for applications where high sensitivity and penetration are required.
Alpha Series are designed for optimum damping and resolution.
Benchmark Series, with BENCHMARK COMPOSITE® elements, provides users with an excellent combination of sensitivity, resolution, and penetration for punching through highly attenuative materials.

All ISS and IS Transducers have waterproof UHF connectors. Waterproof BNC connectors may be special ordered. Please be aware that cables are not included with purchase.

Please be sure to specify focal length. If needed, look under the ‘specifications’ tab to calculate your transducer’s focal length.

    Applications:

    • Parts with irregular or complex geometry, such as gears and valves
    • Automated or mechanized scanning
    • Applications requiring very high near surface resolution or detection of very small flaws
    • Scanning pipes, tubes and tanks
    • Plates, billets and bars
    • Disks, axles and shafts

    Immersion Transducer Focal Lengths Equation

The following table lists the near field lengths and minimum and maximum practical focal lengths in water expressed in inches and millimeters. To find the approximate near field length in steel, divide all Nvalues by 4.

    N = (Dia.)2 x (Freq.) / (4 x Velocity)

N = Near field practical focal length

Min = Minimum practical focal length

Max = Maximum practical focal length
