Sherwin DP-54 Visible Dye Penetrant (DP-54)

DP-54 is a red colored dye penetrant liquid used to locate cracks,laps, pores, lack of bonding, and similar surface flaws in any insoluble, nonporous substance including both ferrous and nonferrous metals, ceramics, glass and many plastics. Referred to as the “visible dye penetrant" method or "color contrast" method of inspection. DP-54 meets MIL-I-25135 and AMS-2644 requirements.

DP-54 is approved for solvent removal (Method C) or water removal (Method A), The water wash feature means spillage and over spray can be flushed away with water for easy clean up.

Special Features:

Biodegradable, DP-54 does not contain petroleum solvents, e.g., kerosene and light oils. lt meets certain sewage disposal requirements, and is more likely to be accepted by sewage facilities.

DP-54 Dye Penetrant is free-rinsing and outperforms conventional penetrants on difficult surfaces. It can be applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying. Excess penetrant can be removed by simple water wash.

DP-54 offers the following advantages.
