Description

The Composite Training and Testing Flawed Specimen Kit is the ideal tool for introducing composites, featuring various carbon fiber thicknesses, core types, and common manufacturing flaws. Developed with input from industry experts and refined through beta testing, this kit is a first for the industry.

It offers a broad range of composite scenarios, with 8 specimens, each containing 1-3 flaws, including wrinkles, voids, foreign materials, delaminations, and dis-bonds. The carbon fiber laminate thicknesses range from 0.25" to 0.75", while core thicknesses range from 0.75" to 1.00". Core materials include aluminum honeycomb, cardboard honeycomb, foam, and balsa. The kit also includes a full document package.

Specimens will be identified with a serial number

Flaws: 1-3 randomly placed flaws per specimen, for a total of 15 flaws

Flaws will consist of Wrinkles, Voids, Foreign Material – Plastic, Foreign Material – Paper, Delamination’s, and Dis-bonds.
