This FlawTech Aluminum Penetrant Comparator block, also known as a quench crack block or cracked aluminum block, is used for testing different penetrants and comparing their effectiveness against two different halves identified with 'A' and 'B' sides. The block contains a manufactured groove on either side of the block that divides the face in half. Made of 2024 aluminum.
FlawTech does not cut the blocks in half as described in the ASME code. These blocks can be cut in half and denoted as a mating pair at an additional cost.
