The Dakota Ultrasonics MMX-7 Corrosion Thickness Gauge is a durable multi-mode, dual element gauge designed for rough conditions. This IP65 rated unit is ideal for detecting corrosion and pitting in applications on glass, tanks, tubes and pipe, and boilers. The MMX-7 is protected by an extruded aluminum body and nickel-plated aluminum end caps (gasket sealed). The 12-key keypad is made with a sealed membrane to make it resistant to water and petroleum products. A backlit display allows the operator to view readings even in dim settings. For harsher environments, operators can take advantage of the alarm mode and set a high and low temperature limit.
This gauge is CDC compatible serial over USB and also features USB-C connectivity. While having the same features as the ZX-6, the MMX-7 also offers a time-based B-Scan with custom setups and gain control. The MMX-7 also offers Pulse-Echo mode for Flaw and Pit detection as well as an Echo-Echo mode for inspections on Thru Paint and Coatings. This unit includes 4GB of internal SD memory.
The MMX-7 features 64 custom used-defined setups and editable factory setups. To improve linearity, the operator can select transducer types with built-in dual path error correction. A bar graph shows the stability of readings during inspection. Velocities can be set manually using the CAL key or selected from a list of 8 common material velocities.

The MMX-7 Corrosion Thickness Gauge is factory-calibrated to NIST & MIL-STD-45662A standards. This gauge includes a 1/4" Ø potted, side entry, dual element transducer at 5 MHz. This transducer is perfect for use on steels, thin plastics, and glass. High-temp and Hi damped transducers are also useable with this unit.
