The FW Bell 4180 Elf Meter is lightweight and completely self-contained. Easy to use, the Elf Meter can be used for a wide variety of commercial and home applications like detecting magnetic field emissions from video display terminals, AC power lines, office equipment, household appliances, and all types of electronic equipment. The 4100 series accurately measures extremely low frequency magnetic fields generated by eletrical equipment.
Users are able to select readings in Gauss or Tesla. The 4180 features relative mode, auto range, and min./max./peak hold. This meter also includes a switchable single axis mode feature, allowing users to display vector components of magnetic fields. Meters from the 4100 series utilize an extended bandwidth feature that extends the -3 dB frequency response from 20 to 20,000 Hz. For measurements required from sources with high harmonic content, this feature is exceedingly valuable.
