    Description

The Waygate Technologies Krautkramer USM Vision, a Baker Hughes business product (formerly GE Inspection Technologies), offers a complete digital inspection workflow, from the inspection plan creation to the data sharing that can be done wirelessly. The USM Vision has applications with carbon steel and stainless steel pipes, circumferential welds, short exit point welds and single or dual access and is especially useful in the energy construction industry. This hand-held flaw detector can also reduce the ultrasonic weld inspection complexity.

The USM Vision has been developed to meet the market need to transition from radiographic to ultrasonic weld inspection according to the international codes and standards through  optimizing the use of specialized inspection personnel, simplifying the ultrasonic weld inspection process, and reducing the current weld inspection radiographic constraints of radiation, consumables, and chemical waste management. The USM Vision is perfect for increasing productivity in lean manufacturing and construction applications.

    A Complete Weld Inspection Solution

Integrate a database with procedures based on international codes and standards and ray tracing functionality with IPC software for the validation of the UT parameters and creation of the inspection plan and automatic generation of the UT set-ups. The USM Vision hand-held flaw detector, features Conventional channel, TOFD, 16/64 or 16/128 Phased Array, Real Time Volume Corrected Images, with A-scan saving. The USM Vision's unique user interface allows the user to operate a pointing device by two trackballs.

An encoder-scanner, designed for TOFD and Phased Array manual acquisition includes an optional chain for the inspection of pipes, an arm with probe and center line pointer holders, forks for TOFD and PA wedges, a manual handle cart with magnetic wheels, and a transport case. The set of probes and wedges relate to the specified pipe ranges and inspection codes.

Rhythm Review 4.2 software for the analysis and reporting is supported on Windows 7. Optional Rhythm modules are available for archiving, sharing and advance reporting functionalities.
