Chemetall UCA2 M Blue Ultrasonic Couplant is a water-soluable ultrasound gel for use on rough and smooth surfaces for excellent acoustic transmission. This Couplant consists of coupling agents, thickening agents, and organic corrosion inhibitors with low sulphur and halogen content. Additionally, it is essentially ash free on ignition.
Corrosion inhibitors in UCA2 M Blue ensure it will not corrode most metals. A lack of powerful solvents also ensures the couplant will not effect painted surfaces, synthetic/natural rubbers, or plastics.

UCA2 M Blue Ultrasonic Couplant can be applied with a soft-bristle brush or by hand. The couplant can be pre-diluted with water, retaining its thixotropic properties, enhanced viscosity, and wetting properties. For removal, alcohol, acetone, or a similar solvent can be used when water is not practical. Freezing-point depressants provide working temperature of -10°C to + 50°C (14°F to 122°F). Some evaporation of water occurs during prolonged exposure above 50°C (122°F).
