    Overview

BERG ENGINEERING & SALES COMPANY, INC.

The Magnaflux Zyglo® ZL-67 Water Washable Fluorescent Penetrant is safe for use on aluminum, steel, nickel, titanium and other alloys. The ZL-67 classifies as a Type 1, Method A, water washable, non water based, Level 3 penetrant with a high penetrant sensitivity level of 3.

Recommended viewing is under an ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 365 nanometers. An example of this would be the Magnaflux® ZB-100F fan-cooled black light. Under UV light, the ZL-2C glows a bright greenish-yellow.

Applications for the ZL-67 inspections on investment castings, jet engine components and other highly machined surfaces in order to detect cracks, seams and other defects.

    The ZL-67 complies with AMS 2644, ASME B & PV Code, Sec. V, MIL-STD-271, MIL-STD-2132, Boeing BAC 5423 PSD 6-46 or 8-4, General Electric P50YP107, Boeing PS-21202, ASTM E 165, AECL and ASTM E 1417.

    Description

ZL-67 fluoresces a bright greenish-yellow under ultraviolet radiation and is safe for use on most engineering and aerospace alloys including aluminum, steel, nickel and titanium. Use of an ultraviolet light source with a peak wavelength of 365 nanometers, such as the Magnaflux ZB-100F fan-cooled black light, is recommended.

ZL-67 penetrant meets OSHA requirements for Class III B liquids due to its high flash point and can be used in open dip tanks.

    Specifications Compliance:
