    Description

The PR-8V thickness gauge is tailored for engine builders and race shops. Its time-based B-Scan feature shows a cross-section of the opposite surface, allowing engine builders to visualize the back surface contours in cylinders during scanning.

The Multi-Mode (Echo-Echo mode) enables measuring chassis tubing with or without paint/coatings, and it includes a built-in automatic gain control. Selectable low, medium, and high gain settings provide extra power for hard-to-penetrate materials.

The PR-8V is versatile with various calibration options and can store up to 64 custom setups, with factory setups available for common applications. Its internal Data Logger is customized for engine builders and chassis inspectors, offering selectable cylinder mapping or general alphanumeric file storage for reporting.

Built-in transducer types enhance linearity between transducers. The Fast Scan feature makes 32 measurements per second, showing the thinnest measurement when the transducer is removed from the test material.

Visual and audible alarms with Hi and Lo limits notify inspectors of measurements outside tolerance. The PR-8V includes Windows PC software for data transfer, allowing viewing of B-Scans, Cylinder Maps, and general measurements.

    Features

    • Selectable low, medium, and high gain settings offer the inspector the additional punch power for materials that are hard to penetrate
    • Store up to 64 custom setups. Factory setups available for common applications
    • Selectable transducer types with built-in dual path error correction for improved linearity
    • Fast-Scan Mode: Takes 32 readings per second and displays the minimum reading found when the transducer is removed
    • Use the visual and audible alarm to set Hi and Lo limits to signal the inspector when the measurements are out of tolerance
